I was born in Torrance, California but grew up in Laredo, Texas. I come from a family of artists and educators where the arts were celebrated and appreciated. I was born in Torrance, California but grew up in Laredo, Texas. I come from a family of artists and educators where the arts were celebrated and appreciated. The journey began by rigorously drawing Batman and the Ninja Turtles. Art was not available in my elementary so formal learning in visual art began with taking advanced art at United Middle School. I was accepted into the Studio Art Magnet Program at J.B. Alexander High School. In August of 2008 I graduated from Texas A&M International University with a Bachelor of Arts with all level certification to teach. I've been teaching ever since and It is my 15th year in the education system. I currently teach HSArt1 and Art2 Drawing 1 at Westwood High School in Austin, Texas.

I've used many different mediums over the course of my career. From my collegiate years until just recently, I loved the smooth blending of oils, however, over the years clean up, long drying times, tight deadlines started to become too stressful. I made the switch and now have an undying affection for acrylics. Ampersand Clayboards are my surface of choice.

The puzzle, called life, I've been putting together for 36 years has led me to believe that there is something I am responsible for. That, thing, is art.
For 12 years I've been educating students about the importance of finding out what their passion is. Getting completely immersed in their artwork is a step towards making that discovery

At this juncture in my life, I think it's time to take it to the next level. I am inspired to do something groundbreaking. I want my students to be able to tell everyone that Jesus Ramirez, the famous painter, was their teacher.
